If you have experience working in consulting or working with multiple companies would be great!

The Company

The Role
The Social Development Consultant is responsible for developing and implementing social performance practices in the resource development sector. This assignment will involve working closely with the Lundin Foundation team and the Lundin Group of Companies to enhance social performance tools and practices.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead various social performance projects, traveling 25-30% of your time across Latin America to engage directly with communities and stakeholders.
  • The role will involve creating partnerships with organizations like the Interamerican Development Bank and the World Food Program to drive entrepreneurship programs.
  • Identify and leverage partnership opportunities that support the circular economy and local talent development.
  • Represent our client in public engagements, demonstrating diplomacy and excellent communication with government bodies and communities.
  • Report on sustainability initiatives to corporate headquarters, ensuring transparency and accountability in all projects.

The Requirements

  • At least 7 years of solid experience in social performance, ideally within the mining sector or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in development, sustainability, economics, or social sciences preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is a must (written and oral), and Portuguese would be a plus.
  • Deep understanding of international standards, human rights, and indigenous rights.
  • Experience working in remote locations and familiarity with the mining lifecycle is crucial.
  • Strong professional ethics and commitment to sustainable development.

SKILLS

  • Strong networking abilities and the skill to build meaningful connections quickly.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, displaying autonomy and initiative.
  • Competency in developing and executing sustainability and community development strategies.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to communicate effectively in diverse settings.

The Rewards

  • Enjoy a work-life balance that values your time and well-being.
  • Get the chance to work with a leader known for being on the ‘beautiful side’ of the mining industry.
  • Travel across Latin America and experience different cultures and communities.
  • Contribute to projects that genuinely impact communities and promote sustainable development.
