Social Management Supervisor
We are looking for a social management professional with a passion for fieldwork. If you can generate project engagement with different stakeholders and speak English and Patois, this position is for you. The ideal candidate should be available for an immediate start.
The Company
Our client is a well-known gold mining company committed to sustainable development, in alliance with a local mineral exploration company. They have selected Globe 24-7 Inc. as their strategic recruitment and selection partner to successfully fill the above position.
The Role
The Social Management Supervisor is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and the implementation of social performance standards, work plans and programs on mining exploration projects. This role is crucial to ensure a positive and collaborative relationship with local authorities, communities and stakeholders.
The position reports to the Regional Sustainability Manager and the Jamaica’s Exploration Manager.
Main responsibilities
- Implementation of the Social Management System
- Survey, Social and Geographic Analysis
- Community Linkage
- Conflict Prevention
- Establishment of agreements
- Management of linkages with local governments
- Social Evaluation and Monitoring
- Development and Implementation of Social Programs
- Communication and Training
The Requirements
- University degree in Social Sciences, Anthropology, Sociology, Geography, Community Development or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in social management, preferably in mining, construction industry, tourism, or other projects. Demonstrable experience working with rural communities and interacting with government officials.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in the use of project management tools and reporting software.
- English and Patois, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local dialects is an advantage.
- High cultural sensitivity and ability to work in diverse environments.
- Strong professional ethics and commitment to sustainable development.
- Ability to solve problems and make effective decisions under pressure.
Working Conditions:
- Willingness to travel frequently to rural communities and government offices.
- Field and office work, with flexible schedules that can include weekends and holidays as needed.
