Opportunity knocks for an experienced Mining Site Survey Supervisor, to work on a landmark APAC ‘mega project’, and at the greenfield stage.
Offering the rare opportunity to be involved prior to production, and to ‘own’ all things Site Survey.

The Site Surveyor Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and managing all surveying operations at a construction site. This role ensures precise measurements, accurate data collection, and adherence to project specifications. The supervisor will lead survey teams, manage modern survey technologies, and integrate drone-based surveying for enhanced efficiency. Additionally, the role includes post-processing of survey data to ensure quality and usability.

Key Responsibilities
1) Survey Operations and Management
o Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of site surveyors and survey crews.
o Plan and execute surveying tasks in alignment with the construction schedule
and project objectives.
o Validate survey data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project
standards.
2) Drone Surveying and Technology Integration
o Operate drones for aerial surveys, mapping, and monitoring site progress.
o Conduct drone-based data collection to complement traditional survey methods.
o Post-process drone survey data using specialized software for detailed analysis
and reporting.
3) Technical Expertise
o Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications for
accurate implementation.
o Utilize and maintain surveying instruments, including GPS systems, robotic total
stations, digital levels, and laser scanners.
o Ensure survey data aligns with design tolerances and benchmarks.
4) Leadership and Team Supervision
o Train and mentor survey staff on equipment operation, drone usage, and safety
protocols.
o Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular team briefings.
o Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
5) Collaboration and Communication
o Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address
technical issues and align goals.
o Resolve discrepancies between design specifications and on-site conditions.
o Communicate survey findings, drone imagery, and recommendations effectively
to stakeholders.
6) Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management
o Enforce safety protocols during all survey and drone operations.
o Ensure compliance with local and national standards, regulations, and company
policies.
o Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with surveying activities and
drone flights.
7) Documentation and Reporting
o Maintain comprehensive records of survey data, including field notes,
calculations, drone footage, and electronic files.
o Prepare and submit detailed reports on survey progress, as-built drawings, and
drone analytics.
o Provide regular updates to management on survey activities and milestones.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in surveying, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
Certifications
o Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or equivalent certification (preferred).
o Certified Drone Pilot license (e.g., FAA Part 107 or equivalent).
- Technical Proficiency:
o Proficient in survey software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and drone mapping tools.
o Experience with post-processing software (Global Mapper, Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, ,) for aerial imagery and survey data.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment
- Primarily on-site at construction locations, with office work for data analysis and
reporting.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions is required
