The Company
 
Globe 24-7 is partnering with a mining client in the GTA, Canada, to hire an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to support one of their mining operations in northern Ontario.
 
Position Overview 
 
Reporting to the Geology Manager, this role supports a range of geological activities and contributes to various components of the exploration program. The position is responsible for coordinating and executing daily field activities, systems, and processes associated with both near-site and surface exploration initiatives.
 
This position is offered with as FIFO, with a rotating schedule, or drive-in for those in closer proximity to the site.
 
The Responsibilities
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Conduct workplace inspections and task observations to verify adherence to established safety requirements.
  • Support the development of team members through training, guidance, and ongoing mentorship.
  • Identify and recommend additional drilling opportunities to improve understanding of the mineralized system, support resource growth, and increase geological confidence.
  • Manage the acquisition, organization, and interpretation of geological data from exploration activities, including drilling, mapping, geophysical surveys, and surface sampling.
  • Provide technical direction to the exploration team, including establishing, reviewing, and maintaining effective exploration practices, systems, and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of exploration programs and contribute to longer-term planning initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to support technical development and mentorship of less experienced team members.

 
Qualifications

  • Must have a Drivers License
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in mineral exploration, with a focus on near-site or brownfield environments.
  • Strong understanding of orogenic gold systems and associated geological models.
  • Completed Common Core Module training are an asset
  • Experience working in an operational setting, collaborating with multiple departments while supporting exploration activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate field programs, including drilling campaigns, while managing teams and support personnel.
  • Experience preparing, monitoring, and reporting on budgets using industry-relevant systems; familiarity with enterprise resource planning software is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to develop team members, supported by strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to take initiative and provide leadership in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with geological modeling, mine planning, and data management software (e.g., Leapfrog, Datamine, GIS platforms, and database systems).
  • Professional designation or eligibility for registration with a recognized geological association is preferred.
