Leading mid-tier gold producer, with domestic and international assets, requires experienced Mechanical Fitter, to work as part of a tight knit team, on a renowned WA operation.
 
Our client will fully relocate you and your family to Perth for the opportunity; they will also sponsor a visa of those currently working in Australia. To be clear, this opportunity is open to those with current Australian work rights only.
 
As part of a supportive team, and working under the direction of a highly experienced supervisor, who is known for developing the skills and careers of his people, you will have the opportunity to become a very rounded Mechanical Fitter; working on a demanding asset where you will get huge exposure to all areas of production and development.
 
With the operation working 12-hour firing cycles only per day, you will benefit from more time to enjoy the recreational perks of the operation. Our client also has the benefit of the airstrip being onsite, and therefore only a 5-minute transfer to your accommodation. Standards of catering at this operation are described as ‘excellent’.
 
About the role:
 

  • Perform maintenance activities in the processing area as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Maintain and service equipment such as crushers, conveyor systems, pumps, piping, ball mills, concentrators, vibrating screens, feeders, cranes, hoists, cyclones, and associated tanks, launders, and steelworks. Maintenance tasks may include, but are not limited to, fitting, machining, preventative maintenance inspections, and fabrication work.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance support in other areas, including the Accommodation Village, Mine, and Bore Fields.
  • Be available to work night shifts on a rostered basis to address equipment breakdowns.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of shutdown activities.

 
About you:
 

  • Possession of a current trade qualification as a fitter and machinist or welder, with demonstrated experience in fitting.
  • Experience in maintaining mineral processing or heavy industrial plants, preferably with a background in the gold industry.
  • Ability to work in environments with noise, dust, elevated workspaces, confined areas, extreme temperatures, water, and slurry.
  • Capability to work effectively as part of a multi-skilled workforce.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Hold a current WA C Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to obtain a new National Police Clearance.
