The Company
Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client in electrical equipment manufacturing are working together to source experienced and qualified Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor for the Skouries Mine operation in Greece.
The Role
The Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor will be responsible for the direction of mechanics performing Inspection, Pre- Commissioning, and Commissioning of Mechanical and Piping equipment. The duties will include planning and coordinating the workforce daily and supporting the commissioning area leads as requested to maintain the project schedule. Ensure the health and safety of the team are in conformance with the project’s HSE standards. Daily review and approval of test documentation completed by field personnel, ensuring high quality and workmanship. Troubleshooting and correction of problems with equipment or installation. Ensure that the installation meets or exceeds specifications and meets the regulatory or statutory requirements of local jurisdictions.
The Responsibilities
- Ensure that all equipment and systems are safe, operable, and maintainable
- Integrate Operations and Maintenance Personnel into the Commissioning activities to gain familiarization with equipment, develop troubleshooting skills and operating confidence
- Direct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities related to mechanical equipment and piping systems, assuring safe and efficient task execution and facility operation.
- Ensure completion of Mechanical and Piping Inspection and Test Reports or “Check sheets”
- Participate in walk-down and inspection of Mechanical Equipment and piping as completed sub-systems with the Construction Contractor to verify the installation is per installation drawings and meets or exceeds specifications.
- Check rotating machinery for freedom of moving parts before connecting to the driver.
- Perform final cold alignment check and perform any doweling as directed per Vendor’s recommendation or Project procedures, whichever is more stringent. Check equipment for pipe strain.
- Ensure that equipment adjustments, repairs, or replacements are completed promptly.
- Flush systems and install initial charge of individual lubricants. Dispose of flushing oil by instructions.
- Ensure equipment Warranties are protected.
- Verify that all Components are installed per Manufacturer’s recommended procedure.
- Provide support as requested to Equipment Vendor Representatives.
- Develop plans and procedures as required for the project
- Reporting of non-conformance with project standards and specifications.
The Requirements
- Supervisor must have at least five years of specific experience in supervising personnel performing construction and commissioning related to Mechanical Equipment and Piping Systems in Mining and Metals projects or similar process facilities.
- Greek language (intermediate level) is highly preferred.
- Familiar with typical Project Management practices and methods, including Contractual obligations, Construction and Commissioning, Documentation, QC/QA, Safety and Environmental, and Contractor Supervision.
- Current and valid Country, State or International Driver’s License.
- Valid Passport, and ability to qualify for work visas when applicable.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office components, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
