HSE Safety Technical Specialist
The Company
Globe 24-7, in partnership with a global leader in project commissioning and operational safety, is seeking an HSE Safety Technical Specialist to join their team at a major mining operation in Europe. This role requires expertise in Health, Safety, and Environmental standards to support the seamless commissioning of key assets.
The Role
The HSE Safety Technical Specialist ensures compliance with HSE standards, guiding employees to meet their responsibilities and fostering a proactive safety culture. This role is critical for implementing and enforcing work permits, LOTO, and SIMOPS procedures, while also addressing daily HSE challenges and opportunities.
The Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and promote a culture of zero harm.
- Conduct monthly HSE audits and inspections, achieving or exceeding performance KPIs.
- Lead team safety meetings to provide updates, guidance, and support for continuous improvement.
- Oversee and enforce compliance with LOTO policies and procedures.
- Promote risk awareness and implement training programs to mitigate hazards.
- Conduct field reviews to identify and control risks effectively.
- Ensure personnel have necessary training, inductions, and PPE for site activities.
- Promote accurate reporting of incidents, near misses, and environmental performance.
- Participate in system walkthroughs with contractors and operational teams to verify readiness for the next stages.
The Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in the Safety industry.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in site safety management, preferably in hydrometallurgical or chemical process facilities.
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA requirements and Safe Work Practices.
- Certifications in Advanced First Aid and Emergency Response.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid state or international driver’s license.
