The Role
Fixed Plant Maintenance Planning Specialist has the responsibility of ensuring equipment and machine availability by planning request
for repairs, corrective maintenance, and planned maintenance on the planned maintenance system (SAP). Must be an SAP super user, who
will provide structural approach to planning and executing major repairs and refurbishment of plant and equipment. Systematic examination
of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks, identifies the shutdown scope and frequency, while providing sufficient lead
time to arrange for parts, materials, and specialist resources. Analyzes the process task step and enables management to prepare procedure
that mitigate the risks identified while optimizing the outage duration. 
This includes working with variety of stakeholders to oversee, coordinate and monitor all aspects of assigned planning activities and shutdown
projects, acquire resources, communicate during daily interactions with the Port maintenance leadership Team to interpret requirements
and needs, review percentage completion of work orders, backlogs, pending issues with Supply Chain, stock transfers, training national
stuffs, BOM management with the project team  and construction deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions throughout, monitor
compliance to Maintenance KPI`s with applicable codes, standards, and practices as well as quality assurance and control policies.
 
The Key Responsibilities

  • Be proactive with Planning requirements, structures, schedule, cost, quality, and environmental criteria for all maintenance strategies.
  • Lower safety and Business Risk during planned maintenance activities
  • Make effective use of shutdown time frame to perform condition monitoring and other maintenance activities, including detailed inspections, that can only be performed when the asset is not in operation.
  • Ensures assets are operational and productive in between scheduled shutdown intervals.
  • Support proactive planning of long- lead-time parts and materials for major repairs and refurbished activities.
  • Continuous improvement by rigorous shutdown postmortem analysis
  • Identify areas of potential improvement and introduce process, procedures, equipment, structures, and resources to address the issues.
  • Provide timely reports to the maintenance group that accurately communicates agreed KPI’s relating to performance, reliability and efficiency. This includes availability, MTTR, MTBF, MTBS,PCR execution duration vs plan etc, planned efficiency)
  • Develop and document guidelines and practices for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques and programs to be applied at sites.
  • Recommend and implement new systems and technology which enhances Maintenance performance and equipment reliability.
  • Complete site assessments focussed on condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure adequate failure analysis methods are in place across Port operations. Facilitate the completion of failure analysis of critical equipment when required.
  • Work within approved budget levels.
  • Work closely with operations maintenance personnel to review areas of opportunity for equipment and maintenance process performance improvement.
  • Focus on equipment reliability, availability and maintenance efficiencies.
  • Provide training and mentoring of site Planning personnel in predictive maintenance, failure investigation and maintenance strategy development.
  • Develop Planning KPI’s and implement site reporting of KPI’s.
  • Review routine predictive maintenance programs and ensure appropriate actions are being implemented by analysis of results.
  • Provide technical support to operations maintenance personnel in the areas of planning, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, maintenance strategy development, failure analysis and reliability engineering.
  • Comply with all aspects of ArcelorMittal and ArcelorMittal Liberia policies and values including the AM Business Code of Conduct.

 
 
The Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or a Trade Certificate with significant advanced planning experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years in maintenance, with at least 5 years specifically in a Senior Planning or Specialist role within a large-scale mining environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of SAP
  • Advanced Excel skills (data modeling, pivot tables).
  • Certifications: Asset Management or Project Management certifications (e.g., CMRP, PMP)
