Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Vice President, Geology to lead the geological function for a 100%-owned underground silver-lead-zinc operation currently in ramp-up.
Based in Lima, the VP Geology will provide strategic and technical leadership across the geological function, while maintaining a strong presence at the mine operation through a site rotation schedule. The role will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of geological data, advancing drilling programs, strengthening the resource base, and supporting the operation through the ramp-up phase.
This is a senior leadership position requiring a combination of underground production mining experience, resource geology expertise, technical leadership, and strong knowledge of the Latin American mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the geological function for the Peruvian operation, including drilling, geological logging, database management, resource modelling and executive-level geological reporting.
• Develop and execute infill and exploration drilling programs to support mine production, resource conversion and the identification of additional mineralized zones.
• Evaluate and integrate newly defined mineralized zones into the company’s mineral resource base.
• Lead the resource estimation process, working closely with external independent Qualified Persons (QPs).
• Support the preparation and review of NI 43-101 technical disclosures in accordance with TSX Venture reporting requirements.
• Ensure high standards of database integrity, geological QA/QC, sampling, logging and data management.
• Provide geological leadership and technical support to the underground mining operation during ramp-up.
• Establish strong interfaces between Geology, Mine Operations, Engineering and Technical Services to ensure geological information effectively supports production planning and decision-making.
• Build, develop and mentor a high-performing site geology team, fostering technical excellence, accountability and continuous development.
• Provide clear and concise geological updates and recommendations to the COO and senior management team.
• Establish and maintain appropriate geological standards, procedures and controls across the operation.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant mining experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibility within Latin America.
• Strong background in underground production mining; candidates whose experience is primarily exploration-focused will not be considered.
• Proven experience in resource modelling, resource estimation, drilling and geological database management.
• Experience working with independent QPs and supporting NI 43-101 reporting is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in Peru is strongly preferred.
• P.Geo. eligibility or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and mentor multidisciplinary geological teams.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between geology, resource definition and underground mine production.
• Full professional fluency in English and Spanish.
