Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.
 
The Role
 
The UG Fuel/Lube Service Truck Operator plays a critical role in maintaining mine productivity by safely driving and operating specialized service trucks underground. This position ensures that the underground heavy mobile fleet (loaders, trucks, drills) receives vital fuel, lubricants, and fluid top-ups directly in the field, minimizing equipment downtime.
 

  • Location: Sukari Gold Mine Egypt
  • Contract Type: Full Time
  • Schedule: 20/10 Days, Shift roster aligned to underground production operations

 
The Key Responsibilities
 

  • Field Refuelling & Lubrication: Safely transport, dispense, and top up fuel, oils, coolants, and greases for heavy underground mining equipment at designated field service points.

 

  • Equipment Monitoring & Inspections: Complete thorough pre-start inspections on the service truck and its dispensing systems. Monitor fluid levels, track consumption data, and accurately log daily dispensing sheets.

 

  • HSE & Spill Prevention: Strictly adhere to underground safety protocols, including strict containment, fire suppression awareness, and instant spill-response procedures.

 

  • Preventative Care: Perform basic preventative maintenance and cleaning on the service truck’s pumps, hoses, and reels, reporting any system defects immediately.

 
The Requirements
 

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience operating heavy trucks or specialized service units, ideally within an underground mining or heavy civil environment.

 

  • Licenses & Clearances: Must hold a valid, clean Heavy Driving License. Ability to pass a comprehensive medical fitness clearance for underground field Labor is mandatory.

 

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of fluid handling, high-pressure dispensing systems, and basic mechanical troubleshooting of heavy machinery fluid types.

 

  • Languages: Professional-level Arabic is required; basic operational English to read product labels, safety data sheets (SDS), and logbook entries is preferred.

 

  • Logistics & Roster: High attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and full willingness to work a 20 days on / 10 days off remote site roster on rotating day/night shifts.
