The Role
The Specialist – Production Engineering and Compliance  is responsible for optimizing mining production performance while ensuring strict adherence to mine plans, design parameters, and regulatory compliance. The role integrates production engineering, drill and blast oversight, short-term planning alignment, and governance to achieve safe, efficient, and compliant mining operations.

The Key Responsibilities
Production Engineering and Optimization

  • Monitor and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly production against mines plans, ensuring alignment with tonnage, grade, and cost targets.
  • Analyze mining cycle efficiencies (drilling, blasting, loading, hauling) and implement improvements to maximize productivity.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the production system and drive corrective actions to improve overall mines’ performance.

Compliance with Mine Plan and Design

  • Ensure mining activities are executed in accordance with approved designs, pit limits, bench heights, berm widths, and haul road specifications.
  • Monitor compliance with short-term and life-of-mine plans, minimizing overbreak, underbreak, and dilution.
  • Conduct regular field audits and reconciliation of planned vs. actual mining performance.

Drill and Blast Governance

  • Oversee drilling and blasting activities to ensure compliance with design parameters, fragmentation targets, and safety standards.
  • Review blast designs, powder factors, and timing sequences to optimize fragmentation and downstream processing performance.
  • Ensure blast outcomes meet required specifications to minimize rehandling, oversize generation, and equipment wear.

Reporting, Reconciliation, and Data Analysis

  • Develop and maintain production reports, dashboards, and KPIs, including productivity, equipment utilization, and cost performance.
  • Conduct reconciliation between mine production, grade control, and plant feed data to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Utilize data analytics to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Continuous Improvement and Governance

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in mining operations, focusing on productivity, cost reduction, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, and company standards related to mining operations.
  • Support implementation of best practices, new technologies, and digital mining systems to enhance operational efficiency.

The Requirements
