Senior Procurement Specialist
With the acquisition of Centamin in November 2024, AngloGold Ashanti acquired two exploration licences in Egypt’s highly prospective Eastern Desert. The EDX Blocks comprise 1,389km2 of greenfield exploration tenements within the Egyptian section (Eastern Desert) of the Arabian Nubian Shield. The area represents a significant land package of highly prospective but underexplored geological terrane.
The Role
The Senior Procurement Specialist leads the procure-to-pay function, sourcing, and procurement activities for EDX. The role ensures compliance with the company procurement governance framework while supporting operational continuity and effective supplier performance management. This position is responsible for managing supply chain and commercial processes, maintaining supplier relationships, reviewing contract terms and procurement documentation, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to support sourcing strategies and procurement risk management.

The Key Responsibilities
- Tendering: Lead tender processes to support procurement activities.
- Supplier evaluation: Evaluate supplier quotations and assess commercial offers.
- Negotiation: Negotiate commercial terms in line with delegation of authority.
- Supplier management: Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
- Compliance: Ensure procurement compliance and adherence to company policies.
- Contract and documentation review: Review contract terms and procurement documentation.
- Stakeholder coordination and risk: Coordinate with end users, support sourcing strategies, and manage procurement risks.
The Requirements
- Bachelor degree in supply chain, engineering, or business.
- 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally within mining, Exploration, Cement, oil & gas, or heavy industry environments.
- Contract management skills.
- Negotiation skills.
- ERP SAP experience.
