Proudly partnering with LB Minerals, who are targeting first production from their premium-grade Kaolin deposit in WA in 2028.  The mine will be a first of a kind low carbon kaolin operation, using innovative renewable heat and energy solutions to reduce emissions intensity and support lower carbon industrial supply chains.

To lead the development, commissioning, and operational management of this greenfield site, we are now seeking an experienced Quarry Manager, ideally with a background in Kaolin or related industrial minerals.

This key leadership role is responsible for transforming the site into a safe, efficient, and fully compliant open-pit quarry, ensuring consistent production of high-quality Kaolin in line with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards. 

Reporting to the Perth-based General Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Site Development & Commissioning

  • Lead the full development of the Kaolin quarry from early earthworks to operational readiness
  • Oversee installation of site infrastructure, haul roads, processing and support facilities
  • Collaborate with engineering, geology, and project teams on mine design and short-/long-term development plans

Operational Management

  • Manage all day-to-day quarry operations, including excavation, hauling, material handling and (where applicable) drilling and blasting
  • Implement and monitor production schedules to ensure volume and quality targets are met
  • Optimise equipment utilisation, workforce planning, and resource allocation
  • Ensure full compliance with Western Australian mining regulations, including DMIRS requirements and statutory obligations under the Mine Safety and Inspection Act
  • Oversee environmental management, land rehabilitation, and compliance with approved mine plans and permits

 
About you:

  • Valid Western Australian Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency and SSE Certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in quarrying, open-pit mining or industrial minerals operations
  • Practical understanding of kaolin quality variations and their impact on mining strategy and product consistency
  • Strong knowledge of Australian mining legislation, environmental standards, and safety management systems
  • Experience with mine planning tools and operational performance reporting
  • Proven leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills
