Project Data Controller

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Project Data Controller to join a growing project team supporting the development of a significant gold project.
This role will play an important part in ensuring project, technical and operational data is well structured, controlled, accurate and easily accessible as the project continues to develop.
Our client is looking for someone who enjoys working with data and information, understands the importance of good structure and governance, and can help establish and maintain effective data management practices across a developing project environment.
The role
Working closely with technical, project and corporate stakeholders, you will:
- Manage, organise and maintain project and technical data across multiple disciplines.
- Develop and maintain effective data structures, registers, naming conventions and filing protocols.
- Ensure information is accurately captured, classified, stored and easily retrievable.
- Maintain data integrity, quality and consistency across project systems.
- Support the development and improvement of data management processes, procedures and governance.
- Coordinate information received from internal teams, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with reporting, data extraction and the preparation of project information as required.
- Support document and version control requirements across technical and project information.
- Identify opportunities to improve how project information is managed and accessed as the project grows.
About you
We’re interested in speaking with people who have experience across project data, technical information or information management, ideally within mining, resources, engineering or another project-based environment.
You may currently be working as a Project Data Controller, Technical Data Controller, Information Management Coordinator, Project Information Controller or a Document Controller who has developed broader data and information management responsibilities.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Approximately 4–5+ years’ experience in project data, technical information, information management or a related discipline.
- Strong data management, information organisation and quality-control skills.
- Experience working with technical or project information across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of information governance and data integrity.
- Confidence working across different systems, databases and information sources.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- The ability to work independently, establish structure and improve existing processes.
- Mining, resources or engineering project experience will be highly regarded.
- GIS or spatial data exposure would be advantageous.
