Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialized mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.

The Role
The Crusher Specialist plays a critical role in safety, production stability, equipment protection, and overall gold output. This role ensures stable plant throughput, improves gold recovery, and reduces downtime through proper crusher operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
The Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot crushing equipment (e.g., jaw crushers, cone crushers, conveyors), including hydraulic, lubrication, and drive systems.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs, perform vibration analysis, and conduct root-cause failure analysis.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to maintenance teams within shift-based or multi-disciplinary setups.
- Strengthen safety performance in high-risk areas by enforcing HSE regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space protocols.
- Coordinate effectively between mining and processing teams to protect production output, meet targets, and lower operating costs by minimizing equipment wear and failures.
The Requirements
- Education & Trade Qualification: Trade certificate from a recognized engineering trade institution.
Experience:
- 10–12 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a mineral processing or heavy industrial environment.
- 8–10 years specifically focused on crushing equipment.
- 5–8 years of prior supervisory experience leading or mentoring maintenance teams.
- Industry Background: Gold or base metal processing plant experience is highly preferred, with strong familiarity in continuous operations and high-tonnage throughput environments.
- Technical & Safety Skills: High proficiency in maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety compliance protocols (HSE, lockout/tagout, confined space).
