Sr Geologist, MRE

Website Globe 24-7

The Company

Globe 24-7 is partnering with a mining client in Toronto, Canada to hire an experienced Senior Geologist. The team is based in Toronto but it is possible for this role to be done in a remote capacity.

Position Overview

We are building a specialized Mineral Resource Estimation (MRE) function within the technical services group to support a growing portfolio of assets. We are seeking a Senior Geologist, MRE to help shape how mineral resources are modeled and disclosed.

In this role, you will serve as a technical specialist responsible for developing, maintaining, documenting, and reconciling mineral resource models. These models underpin regulatory disclosure, reserve estimation, mine planning, and strategic growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.

This opportunity is ideal for a geologist with a strong technical focus—particularly in geological modeling and geostatistics who is motivated to deepen their expertise and contribute as a subject matter expert.

The Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Mineral Resource Modelling & Estimation
  • Build, update, and maintain long-term mineral resource models across a portfolio of assets (including operating mines, development projects, and future opportunities).
  • Use Leapfrog (must-have) and other tools (e.g., MineSight, Supervisor, RMSP or similar) to develop robust 3D geological and estimation models.
  • Ensure models are fully documented, including assumptions, parameters, domain definitions, and changes between versions.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with relevant standards (e.g., NI 43-101, SK-1300, JORC) and supports Qualified Person (QP) sign-off.
  • Reconciliation & Continuous Improvement
  • Reconcile corporate MRE models against Short-term/site-based models used for mine planning, and actual production performance.
  • Analyze variances, identify root causes, and recommend updates to improve resource models and assumptions.
  • Feed reconciliation insights back into the modelling workflow to continually improve predictability and reliability.
  • Data & Governance
  • Work closely with Exploration and Mine Geology to ensure data integrity (drilling, logging, databases, geological interpretation, and domains).
  • Support the structured handover of modelling responsibilities from site teams to a centralized MRE function, contributing to a clear, documented workflow.
  • Help define and implement standards, templates, and governance for resource estimation.
  • Ensure geological and resource models are aligned with operational, strategic, and growth requirements.
  • Technical Disclosure & External Reporting
  • Support validation of data and statements used in exploration and resource-related public disclosures.
  • Perform data checks and reasonableness reviews to help ensure the accuracy and consistency of externally disclosed information.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Geology, Geoscience, or a closely related discipline; advanced studies in geostatistics, mineral resource evaluation, or a similar field are considered an asset.
  • Approximately 10+ years of industry experience focused on mineral resource estimation and geological modelling.
  • Solid understanding of applicable reporting and estimation frameworks, including NI 43-101 and CIM standards (with familiarity in other international codes such as JORC or SK-1300 considered beneficial).
  • Demonstrated experience developing, validating, and reconciling mineral resource models against short-term planning models and production data.
  • Professional experience that includes exposure to operating mine environments, with additional experience in corporate technical teams or consulting roles viewed as advantageous.
  • Strong background working with precious and/or base metal deposits, including gold, silver, and copper.
  • Ability to work effectively across a variety of deposit types, such as porphyry, epithermal, skarn, and carbonate replacement systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Leapfrog for 3D geological and grade modelling is required.
  • Working knowledge of MineSight, Supervisor, RMSP, or comparable mine planning and estimation software is expected.
