ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is part of the global steel giant ArcelorMittal, committed to leading the way in steel production with a focus on safety, sustainability, quality, and leadership. The AML project is unique to ArcelorMittal’s mining portfolio in that this was the first greenfield mine the company operated.
ArcelorMittal mine, Mount Gangra, is considered one the most beautiful mining environments in the world. It consists of a massive deposit of good-quality iron ore and is situated near the town of Yekepa. Iron ore is then transported to nearby Tokadeh, also in the Nimba mountain range. From Tokadeh the ore is transported by rail to Buchanan for eventual shipment out of Liberia.
ArcelorMittal currently undergoing a massive Phase II expansion project which is set to be a game changer. The project, with a capacity of 15 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate, is making steady progress and is expected to be commissioned in Q4 2024. The project consists of a state-of-the-art concentrator plant along with augmentation of the existing rail and port infrastructure to support the production and shipping of concentrated ore. The project will also have a positive impact on the local economy, with significant infrastructure upgrades, including road development, being taken up as part of the project.

The Role
The incumbent will be responsible for operating trains and ensuring the safe transportation of passengers or cargo.
The Train Driver will play a crucial role in Ensuring the safe operations of trains and perform all duties efficiently and safely. This role is vital for Maintaining a high standard of safety in the workplace within company policy and safety standards. This incumbent will be reporting to the Rail Operations Manager.
The Key Responsibilities
· Ensure compliance with all railroad rules, regulations for health & safety and ensure locomotive and cabin is always kept clean
· Responsibilities Experience in using of reporting Tools and regular updates to minimise delays that affect may production. This sounds like a requirement not key responsibility.
· Inform the RTC/TCO of any hazards or accidents observed along the way.
· Safely and efficiently perform all duties as required during shunting operations.
· Report/respond any work-related accidents, incidents and emergencies.
· Incumbent might be required to perform additional duties as required by Supervisor or Manager.
· You will need ensure no unauthorized passengers in the locomotive, this is crucial for safety and security.
The Requirements
· Experience in the Operation of GE locomotives.
· Minimum 10 years’ Plus experience in driving Locomotives.
· Incumbent with good knowledge and experience in Rail Operations.
· Use Communication Equipment: Utilize your train’s radio or communication system to contact the RTC/TCO.
· Previous experience in rail operations, such as a conductor or other rail-related position, can be beneficial.

· The position offers a 2-year contract with a competitive remuneration package on single status with a 7-3 FIFO roster.
