Globe 24-7 is in search of a Superintendent – Talent Acquisition PNG to join the Newmont Lihir RPO. You will be joining our established team in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to lead and drive best recruitment practices for Newmont’s Lihir Gold mine. As Superintendent – Talent Acquisition PNG, your key accountabilities are to liaise with stakeholders to plan, attract and select talent (both internal and external) within a designated client portfolio to deliver the Newmont business strategy working across the Newmont end to end recruitment process. You will bring your wealth of experience and provide guidance and support to the wider team.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager – Lihir RPO, the Superintendent – Talent Acquisition PNG will support the growth and success of the Lihir RPO.

To facilitate this success, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the team with best recruitment practices to ensure delivery of KPI’s
  • End to end recruitment activity; including job briefs, phone screening, advertising, interviewing, offer management, support the lifecycle into onboarding and guiding candidates through the experience
  • Successfully coaching Hiring Managers on attraction, sourcing and selection activities and decisions
  • Ensuring the recruitment process actively supports Newmont’s approach to diversity
  • Lead and support the School to Mine program, supporting Lihirian work placements
  • Actively championing and supporting internal candidate experience and mobility
  • Workforce planning – keeping stakeholder engagement upmost priority to ensure timeliness of supporting recruiting activity
  • Regular visits to Lihir Island
  • Understanding business-critical roles and their impact on delivering strategic priorities
  • Proactively train and develop the Talent Acquisition Partners and Senior Talent Acquisition Partners to support and ensure best practice
  • Recruitment process governance
  • Provide effective leadership, guidance, mentoring to National Talent Acquisition Team
  • Contribute to weekly team meetings on recruitment strategies and areas for improvement and knowledge sharing
  • Partnering closely with the Talent Acquisition Coordinators to obtain updates on pre-employment checks

A little about your team

You will join an existing team of seven (7) based in Port Moresby, PNG, whilst also joining the wider RPO team based in Australia. Newmont offices are in the town centre of Port Moresby, operating from Monday to Friday. It is expected this position visit Lihir Island once per month for a duration of no less than 3 days per visit (3-4 days). This position is responsible for maintaining collaborative and effective relationships with business-critical stakeholders, including site Human Resources Personnel, Hiring Managers/Hiring Community.
 
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • 15+ years’ experience within an internal Talent Acquisition / Recruitment function (essential)
  • A minimum of 5 years in a supervisor/superintendent/manager level role
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems is essential (Desirable – SAP SuccessFactors)
  • Knowledge of different search engine behaviours (must have LinkedIn Recruiter exp)
  • Knowledge/experience in mining or comparable heavy industry is highly regarded
  • High level initiative and organisation skills
  • High level written and verbal communication skills across all levels of a business
  • Strong leadership with the ability to drive best practice within a positive and engaging working environment
  • High attention to detail essential
  • Advanced expertise for Office365 products
