Globe 24-7 in partnership with their client in Nevada, United States is in search of a Superintendent, Project Execution.
Position Overview
The Project Execution Superintendent leads construction management and project controls for infrastructure capital projects. This role involves developing and implementing project execution plans, overseeing procurement and construction activities, and managing contracts. Responsibilities include overseeing Management of Change (MOC) processes, short-term interval controls (SIC), safety compliance, cost controls, and project reporting. The execution team is responsible for initiating, planning, monitoring, communicating, and handing over projects, ensuring coordination among mine operations, engineering, contractors, vendors, and external stakeholders.
The Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Foster a safety-centric culture through Visible Felt Leadership, engaging operations and contractor teams, and providing effective leadership in site programs such as Management of Change (MOC), Team Risk Assessments (TRA), Field Interactions, and Fatal Risk Audits.
- Drive integration, collaboration, and coordination among teams and contractors essential for the efficient development and execution of projects.
- Offer input on execution planning across all project phases – encompassing design, scheduling, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover – including constructability reviews, operational readiness, and change management.
- Oversee and execute construction activities while establishing project controls, including schedule, scope, and resource management, to ensure smooth project development and execution.
- Monitor and report project progress and earned value metrics accurately.
- Manage purchases, procurement processes, and project payments.
- Assist in contract formulation and administration, ensuring adherence to technical and quality standards.
- Ensure contractor teams comply with all safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, is mandatory.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in an operating mine or relevant construction capacity is necessary, including supervision and project management.
- Proficiency in Project Management is essential.
- Knowledge of project controls and cost forecasting is required.
- Experience in managing contractors and contract management is essential.
- Familiarity with contracts and contracting strategies is desirable.
- Strong preference for familiarity with underground mine design, technical engineering, and construction.
- Experience with underground material handling systems and mine infrastructure is preferred.
- Familiarity with work permit approval processes is preferred.
- Proven leadership skills and supervisory experience are indispensable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment is essential.
- Demonstrated capability to perform the essential functions of this role is required.
