The Company
Our client operates on a large-scale copper and cobalt deposits, both open pit and underground, with high-grade mineral reserves. Metals production is conducted using up-to-date metallurgical processing. They are one of the world’s largest diversified natural resource companies, producing and marketing over 90 commodities worldwide. The company’s operations include copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt, and precious metals mining.
 
The Role
The role will report to Senior Contracts Manager, the position holder will be primarily responsible for driving the implementation of supply chain management policies, governance processes and procedures, compliance and risk management and to ensure supervision and guidance of the entire contractual process in order to create a climate necessary for operational excellence.
 
The Responsibilities (among other things non-exhaustive)

  • Overseeing governance requirements – liaising with end users, procurement team and legal.
  • Develop a risk register for the department and strategic contracts, and monitor mitigation controls.
  • Final review of all contract documents prior to release to the open market.
  • Requests for contract modifications, monitoring the management of contract expirations and monitoring the realization of benefits through long-term contracts and contract negotiations.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders after contract award in accordance with contract terms/conditions.
  • Training on policies and procedures for all stakeholders.
  • To provide support for the Bid Committee secretariat.

 
The Requirements

  • University Degree in the field of Logistics/Supply chain, Legal or Business Sciences.
  • Minimum of least 8 years of experience in supply chain management including at least 5 years of experience in risk management and governance.
  • Knowledge of legal contracts.
  • Knowledge of procurement/supply management processes and systems.
  • Good knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to supply management.
  • Communication and report writing skills.
  • Have fluency in French or English.
