Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client in South America, is working together to source a highly capable and motivated professional to join the Glencore Copper Team.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of mining projects within our organization. This position serves as a key liaison between project managers, engineering teams, construction team, operation team, EPCM/contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
The Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between project teams, stakeholders, and management to address project requirements, issues, and concerns.
- Coordination with Operations team to facilitate admin process and ensure optimization of cost and schedule during execution stage.
- Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
- Liaise with EPCM, Contractors, suppliers, and vendors to solve their debottlenecking timely.
- Assist in the approval process for contracts and procurement areas with Sr Management / Project Team and Operations Team.
- Track the change orders frequently and coordinate with stakeholders the review and approval process.
- Vendor assistance planning and execution.
- Represent the senior management if required in the need of any stakeholder, authority, or others.
- Lead and promote the safety culture during all stages of the project.
- Encourage integration and teamwork.
The Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Project Management certifications or studies related.
- Spanish native / English basic-intermediate.
- 15 years total experience related projects, mainly mining.
- 5 years specific experience as project or construction coordinator.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Project Management experience, knowledge of Contracts, Procurement, Project Control process/Last Planner philosophy.
- Construction Management experience, and knowledge of the interaction between the Construction team and all stakeholders associated as EPCM, Contractors, Operation Team and Corporative/Regional Team.
- Site experience, preferable mining projects (ability to travel to Antapaccay plant site in Espinar – Cuzco – Perú at an altitude of 4000 masl).
- Strong understanding of mining operations, processes, and best practices.
- Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical business practices.
- Soft skills:
- Teamwork, Integration, leadership, social, problem solving.
- Proven experience in project coordination or project/construction management, preferably in an execution stage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
