An exciting opportunity exists with our global mining client for an experienced Surveyor based in Limpopo. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading underground mining teams, driving production efficiency, and ensuring strict compliance with health and safety standards. Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Mine Surveying or equivalent
- 5 years’ mine surveying experience, with experience in mine survey roles in underground mine surveying
- At least 2 years’ experience on a fully mechanised underground operation
- Statutory survey requirements
- Survey relevant legislation
- Highly computer literate
- Advanced skills in the use of mine survey software
- Have report writing and articulation of work skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in “safety talk” sessions as assigned at the beginning of each working day
- Adheres to the company HSE rules and procedures throughout the working day, and undertakes necessary maintenance remedial action in accordance with laid down company rules
- Reports any HSE incidents to relevant authorities immediately, and provides evidence of incidents witnessed, during investigations
- Carries out housekeeping in area of responsibility to ensure a safe and secure work environment
- Implements action items arising from HSE audits by taking corrective actions on identified deviations
- Enforcement of Company Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure safe working environment
- Capturing and compiling data in accordance with the required standards and facilitating the drafting of Mine Plans
- Completing End of Month Surveys on site and assisting with the reporting requirements
- Maintaining the site survey equipment in good working order and regularly updating software and firmware
- Maintaining a high standard data control system
- Providing field support for exploration, and other project-type activities
