The Role
Ambatovy Joint Venture operation in Madagascar is recruiting an experienced Superintendent of the Physical Environment Mine, who will ensure the oversight and management of operational environmental activities related to daily monitoring of the physical environment and implementation of ecological restoration.
The Key Responsibilities
- Build mid-term programs and projects to manage the above environmental challenges and risks
- Manage and coordinate environmental activities with operation departments at the mine site and along the pipeline
- Ensuring compliance of actions, projects, and programs with Ambatovy commitments and strategy.
- Manage other department requests related to physical environments and ecological restoration
- Ensure the budget for activities is well managed in accordance with the business processes and requirement
- Anticipate, identify, and manage environmental challenges and risks related to the mine site
- Deliver compliance to standards, internal processes as well as permits
The Requirements
- Relevant Degree in science or agriculture with 7 years of experience in managing Environmental and rehabilitation programs/projects
- Advance technical knowledge of environmental sciences
- Experiences in the environment at national and international levels
- Experience with mining rehabilitation and ecological restoration
- Working as Chief of service or director of environment management in a government
- Experiences in communication with regional and national stakeholders
- Excellent team management
- Fluent in French and English

The position offers a competitive remuneration package with a single status, 8 weeks on, and 4 weeks off the roster. Lodgings are modern and secure with meals provided on-site.
