Globe 24-7 is conducting a search for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for their client, a Vancouver based mining company in BC Canada. This role will be based in Vancouver and the successful candidate will work a hybrid model.
 
The successful candidate will provide specialist advice and support to employees and People Leaders, on the effective execution of people processes including performance, engagement, industrial relations, employee relations, talent, recruitment, and reward.
 
They will coach People Leaders in the development of their workforce to help influence the culture and performance of the organisation.
 
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilites include but are not limited to:
 
HR Business Partnerships (HRBP)

  • Identifies and implements HRBP improvement initiatives.
  • Provides HRBP support to employees, and Level 2 and 3 People Leaders.
  • Deliver strategic (e.g. build leaders and capability) and operational (e.g. get the basics right) business partner support on time, within budget and in line with expectations.
  • Provides counsel on the data, policies, and frameworks available to support People-related critical decisions.
  • Drives consistent expectations, understanding and application of people processes.
  • Works with People Leaders to resolve HR people-related queries.
  • Facilitates workforce planning and headcount budgeting ensuring alignment with organisation design.

 
Organisational Development and Effectiveness (OD&E)

  • Facilitates and contributes to the talent cycle including performance management, talent reviews, succession plans, career development planning, and diversity and inclusion in collaboration with OD&E.
  • Guides People Leaders on diagnostics to identify learning opportunities, high potential employees and candidates for organisation and leadership development.
  • Provides input to talent pools and learning opportunities.
  • Assists in the planning, executing, sponsoring, and adopting of organisational design and cultural change initiatives.

 
Resourcing and Workforce Planning

  • Engages Strategic Sourcing and Workforce Planning on upcoming resourcing requirements and long-term resource inputs to the strategic resourcing plan.
  • Guides People Leaders on the development of position descriptions.
  • Grade new roles within Group guidelines

 
Performance Reward

  • Facilitates the annual reward cycle and provides advice and day to day support to the business on remuneration reviews, and benefits, incentives (including equity plans) and mobility services.
  • Provides context and process support about Performance and Reward to the business.
  • Supports the business in the annual Performance management cycle, including objective setting and cascading, and interim and full- year assessments.
  • Supports assessment & calibration of High Potentials process.
  • Partner with the client group in the assessment and calibration of High Potentials.
  • Partner with the client group in the assessment and calibration of incumbents in critical roles.

 
Leadership and Professional Development

  • Ensures consistent delivery of global leadership and professional development and adherence to the learning governance framework
  • Works with sites/functions to identify the best delivery model and providers
  • Provides specialist training expertise and coaching to maximise effectiveness, consistent application, and delivery of leadership development, providing guidelines, and supporting materials where required.
  • Measures training effectiveness

 
Learning Governance 

  • Leads the implementation and monitors effectiveness of learning improvement initiatives, including the selection of third-party providers and tools.
  • Leads and monitors effectiveness of third-party contracts for training development and delivery to ensure quality and compliance. Includes provision of “train the trainer” support to providers as required.

 
THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline and/or work experience in a related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar roles with specific knowledge of operational HR, ideally within the mining and extractive industry.
  • Proven experience executing HR practices, processes and disciplines including but not limited to performance management, talent management, employee relations, workforce planning, change management, organisational development, and strategic HR planning.
  • Experience implementing, executing, and supporting leadership and learning programs.
  • A solution focused approach to problem solving with the end user in mind
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management
  • Critical thinker with prior experience interpreting difficult situations and making recommendations on how to proceed.
