Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009, and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.

The Role

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Housekeeper to support the Administration Department at Sukari Gold Mine Egypt. The role is responsible for the daily cleaning of rooms and offices, maintaining hygiene standards across assigned areas, and supporting a safe and orderly site environment.
The Housekeeper will clean public areas, rooms, toilets, and administrative offices, distribute water to blocks and rooms, manage rubbish collection, report maintenance needs, and raise any safety or hygiene concerns to the supervisor. The role also supports departmental goals in line with site safety and hygiene rules and auditor requirements.

The Key Responsibilities

• Public area cleaning: Clean public areas to required hygiene standards.
• Room and office cleaning: Carry out daily cleaning of rooms and administrative offices.
• Toilet cleaning: Clean toilets and maintain general cleanliness.
• Water distribution and waste handling: Distribute water to blocks and rooms, collect rubbish bins, and replace plastic bags.
• Maintenance reporting: Write maintenance requests related to each area.
• Safety and hygiene reporting: Inform the supervisor of any non-compliance related to safety or hygiene.
• General support: Complete other tasks required by the supervisor and support auditor requirements.

• Relevant field experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.
• Self-motivated, with willingness to accept and carry out responsibility.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to perform duties without direct or indirect supervision.
• Fair knowledge of English.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
