An exciting opportunity exists with our global mining client for an experienced Banksman based in Limpopo. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading underground mining teams, driving production efficiency, and ensuring strict compliance with health and safety standards. Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
- Onsetter or Banksman Certificate
- Boiler making phase 1 certificate
- IRCA Training for Construction Supervisors Certificate
- 3 years’ experience working in a similar position
Key Responsibilities:
- Examining Safety devices
- Shaft examinations
- Housekeeping of shaft bank area
- Safety of personnel in shaft bank area and in the shaft
- Signalling Winding Engine Driver, Stage Operators, shaft bottom personnel
- Examining telephones, lights and signalling devices
- Hoisting of men and equipment
- Hoisting of rock disposal
- Record-keeping of Shaft logbook
- Rigging and slinging of equipment
- Report any anomalies and incidents to the shaft Foreman
