GlobeCon 2018 Wrap Up
5 days spent in a company conference with staff from 15 different countries - what was it like?
“Inspiring! Amazing! A Great Experience! Great People! Good Fun! Professional & Personal Growth! Team Strengthening! Knowledge Sharing! Productive! Great Team Building! Invaluable Learning Opportunities! Awesome!”
Occurring every 2 years, Globe 24-7’s staff conference ‘GlobeCon’ was held recently from the 20th to 24th August in Cancún Mexico.
Staff travelled to Cancún from all parts of the world to meet one another and participate in training, team building and sharing of ideas as the business looks to 2018 and beyond.
GlobeCon is an important part of the Globe 24-7 business and has been held in unique locations around the world including Greece (2016), the United States (2014) and Malaysia (2012) with Cancún in Mexico forming the hub for GlobeCon 2018.

For many, GlobeCon 2018 was a chance to meet fellow team members face-to-face for the very first time.
Globe’s North American Recruitment Administrator Tatiana Braun commented on the unique opportunity that GlobeCon offered stating “It’s an amazing opportunity to meet my colleagues from around the world and learn how the business has evolved within all the different regions. Our people are what makes Globe 24-7 what it is and when the company shows value to the team, the team redirect that value back to the work that they do. Bringing us together in Cancún created synergy, trust, communication and lasting relationships amongst the team.”
Nathalia Starck, Globe’s Business Development Manager for the LATAM region commented that GlobeCon was “such a great experience that helps make the work I do so much more meaningful.”
After an exhaustive 3 days training, learning and sharing, GlobeCon culminated in a formal Gala Dinner to celebrate individual and team achievements. A variety of awards were given out at the function including the prestigious ‘Employee of the Year’ which, as voted by the staff, was won by Luis Valente.

Based in the Toronto office, Luis has worked with Globe for two years leading the global Business Development team within the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. Commenting on receiving the award, Luis said “I am pleased, honored and humbled to accept this award - the past two years have been an amazing ride and we have accomplished so much already, I am looking forward to the next couple of years to come. Thanks to everyone at Globe for all your hard work and dedication.”

To further enjoy the Mayan Riviera Region, staff and their partners joined together in a range of company-wide and individual tours including visiting the Chichen Itza Mayan Ruins, swimming in a Cenote, Zip-Lining, Deep Sea Diving, swimming with Whale Sharks & Dolphins, Golfing, Water Caving & Canoeing - just to name a few.
GlobeCon 2018 was a fantastic time together and the team are already counting down the days to ‘GlobeCon 2020’. The big question is “where will it be?”
